Printer is not printing, even with new ink?

My Hp printer is not printing after I installed new ink cartridges, it says that the yellow ink is empty?

  • After replacing the ink cartridges on my HP L7590, it still says the yellow ink is empty and it won't let me print or make copies. How can I fix this problem?

  • Answer:

Start by turning your printer off and unplugging it for about 5 minutes. If that doesn't work, do the same but this time remove the cartridges before powering down.

This printer takes the HP 88 cartridges, these have chips. Its possible that the chip on your yellow cartridge is defective or worn out. Its also possible its not making good contact. Try removing and replacing, and power cycling. If that doesnt work, you need a new cartridge (or a new chip if you can find the chip on its own)

Launch the HP printer wizard, it will make a test page and reset the information on ink. You will then be able to print if the cartridge was placed correctly (don't forget to take out the sticker ;) ). Good luck!

Did you pull the tape off the front of the ink cartridge and is the cartridge seated all the way in its carriage?
