How do I connect my old printer to my new laptop?

How to connect new laptop to printer ?

• Hi! I got a new laptop few weeks ago and I have this old computer (since 2005) and my printer is connected to my old computer. How can I connect my new laptop to my printer so that I can print stuff with out always sending or using my USB stick to print my homework ( so that when I want to print from my laptop it will directly send my stuff to the printer) ...   I am assuming that you want to leave the printer attached to the old computer and somehow magically have the document jump through the air from the laptop to the old PC. Actually, you can do that. That is, if you have a network and both computers are attached to it. Go to the old computer, using the "Printer" option from the Start menu, find the printer and right click on it. You will have an option to "share" the printer. Turn the sharing on. Then go to the new computer and "Add a Printer" and tell it you want to add a network printer. It should find that shared printer on the old computer and make it available to you. You will then be able to print through the printer just as if it was attached to your laptop. The only condition is that the old computer has to be running for the laptop to see and use the printer.
