How do I print Microsoft Reader (lit) file?

Printing in black and white?

  • Two laptops on the same network will not print in black and white. It doesnt matter which programme i am trying to print from: Microsoft word, Adobe reader, excel or outlook all dont give me the option to choose black and white. When I click file and print, I go under the paper/quality tab and there is no option where it usually is. The two laptops are exactly the same and no one else is having the same problem. We have 8 other computers/laptops printing from the same printer on the network. (Konica Minolta bizhub C253) Has anyone else had this problem??

  • Answer:

the settings should be there, it will be in the printer options though not Windows or Office. It is probable the drivers for the printer are not compatible with W7, are you using them from the network location? Try installing the drivers directly to the W7 laptops, you will possibly find the issue is that your XP machines are all 32 bit OS, the two W7 laptops are 64 bit OS and the installed drivers are also 32 bit so W7 will have loaded the base 64 bit print drivers which will not include some of the options available in the full "set". Download the latest available from the print manufacturers website and install onto the laptops and you may find the issue is resolved.

What Windows version are you using? Cause for me, the option to print in Grayscale is located under the 'Color' tab which is at the far right under Print > Properties

It has to do with the printer, not the laptop/computer. There may be a type of setting on the printer that isn't set up yet, or has been messed with. But it shouldn't be the laptop/computers fault.

That's the problem of your printer that it is not giving you such liberty. So for the solution make your document black and white. I would suggest to open the Portable Document Format file in google chrome then print that and in the preview option there will be grey scale or color options. . . This may help you. One more option is to convert your document black and white. . . By the way non-laser printers don't provide user a good facility such as book printing , setting print quality, storing the print for later printing, save the printed jobs, etc. . . So rather worrying about the option go for the alternate.
