What is a USB sync cable and how does it work?

Which USB cable would work with HP Deskjet 1051 and Compaq laptop (windows 7)?

  • I bought HP DeskJet 1051 printer in Black Friday Deal and it does not have the USB cable included. I searched on web for USB cable but could not find a cable specific to HP DeskJet 1051. Which cable would work with my printer and my Compaq (HP) laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium?

  • Answer:

It's a standard USB-A to USB-B cable, my friend. The USB-A plug fits into the USB port on your laptop and the USB-B plug fits into the port on the printer. You'll see, from the following image, which plug is which. You can't actually get them mixed up as they won't fit into the wrong port.

Most printers use the standard USB B-Type connection. Check the picture to see if the second one (B-Type) looks like what is on your printer. I'd be surprised if it isn't. http://tehnosite.narod.ru/ft.files/USB_konektory.gif

I bought the same printer on Black Friday and I found one on Ebay for $.95. I hope it is the right one!
