Will a regular printer print on the photo paper?

How do you print pictures on photo paper from a regular printer?

  • i have no experience with this so i have a lot of questions, if anyone can answer them i promise i'll select a best answer. i have an hp deskjet D2300, and i was wondering if it could print glossy/matte pictures, say 4x6. i was wondering if all i had to do was buy photo paper and change the printing preferences (to the type of paper used, and the size of the photo)? or do i need to also get some ink cartridge that's made specifically for photos? and can you resize pictures to like 3x3 and print it out on a 4x6 photo paper? i feel like it's more convenient and cheap to just do it this way, if all you need is photo paper. if you go to kinkos, can you bring pictures on a usb? i have so much questions, it's fine if you can't answer all of them haha

    Yes. You are correct about simply changing the type of paper in the printer preferences. Select glossy print and set the printer to BEST quality for a nice print. If you want to resize. its easy. Just select Print and select "Fit to Page". The printer will enlarge it automatically to fit the 4 x 6

Until you become more experienced ( through trial and error ) your best bet is put your pictures on a flash drive and go to kinko or staples and let them print your pictures. In the meantime try to read the manual for your printer, it may surprise you to find the answer to your questions in this. Good luck !!
