Why wont my hp printer work?

Trying to print on an HP d110a printer and my computer doesnt have a driver and the downloaded one wont work.?

• i have a windows seven laptop. this is the first printer that refuses to work on it. it recognizes that there is a printer being plugged in. it tries to install the files needed to print with that printer. it fails because there is no driver available on my laptop. it sent me a link to download the driver. i did. about 6 times. after it finishes updating the driver it disappears only to never be seen again even in my programs in the control panel. how can i get this working. this printer makes me want to throw my computer out the window. on my devices and printers, it shows up with a yellow exclamation mark, and i know the problem is i need the driver, but the key to this problem is getting the driver to work. any suggestions?
