HP Deskjet 3745 does not print?

My HP DeskJet 932c won't print after I downloaded a new driver?

• Hi, I upgraded to OS 10.3.9 from 9.2. My printer wouldn't even give me the option to print grayscale in 10, so I downloaded the latest driver from HP. I still don't have the option to print qrayscale, but what's worse, I can't print at all from Classic anymore. I get an error message saying the "HP DeskJet is unavailable," and telling me to select a printer in the Chooser. When I go to the Chooser, it doesn't offer me anything to choose from--just an icon for a generic HP Deskjet. When I click on it, nothing happens. I noticed the printer alias on my desktop has changed to 900 something instead of 932c, so I'm assuming that was the closest the new driver came to my 932c. I also get a HP Printer Engine icon in the dock when I start up any Classic application. Any idea what that means? I hate upgrades....

  Two possibilities - 1. Check the port settings. It must have selected USB1 instead of USB2 or some thing similar. Go to port settings and correct. 2. The downloaded driver is corrupted. Uninstall / delete all ole drivers. Download new driver again (preferably from some other site or mirror and reinstall.
