Dell printer not working?

How do I get a Dell Printer working with HP WebJet Admin?

  • I am using HP WebJet Admin to administrate printers on our network. We have a Dell color printer that works correctly, but also a 5310n that gives a device communication error. Does anyone know what ports I need to open or services I need to enable to quit getting this error message?

    . Have you checked Dell's support web site? Their # 1-888-236-3355 ; might charge you $2 a minute! Who knows? But they have a free email form. To 'chat' with them, you need a 'service tag '. Have you tried Deleting the 5310's program completely, and then re-installing it? Maybe it's incompatable with the HP system or the Dell printer? Maybe disable or shutdown, temporarily, one system while trying the other by itself. There are a couple of web 'Forums' discussing similar problems with HP Admin , but NO solutions. You'll have to email their IT guys at Dell and HP home pages/support.
