How do I scan or fax something that's really long?

I have cable and internet, but no fax?

  • I read through the forums and found something called E-fax. It gives you a free fax number and i guess you recieve the fax through your email. That really doesnt help me send faxes anywho.. I can always i guess scan and send. But to the point. Anyway to use my internet as a fax line? or whatever?

  • Answer:

You can definitely use your Internet as a fax line. Faxes are sent and received from your email. They look just like normal faxes when sent. For more information go to http://www.myfax.com.

you can use your pc to send fax, just plug a phone line into your modem. if you are using windows xp, you can install a fax service and you can send and receive fax with your phone number.

E-fax (and other similar programs) also lets you send files on your computer all ready (written or scanned into it) to fax. But to "fax" you would have to have a phone line and some way to fax (old 56k Fax modem) and the software to receive the fax and read it) or a multifunction printer (that includes faxing) that you hook up to a phone line. But again that is a phone line, not your Internet.

just put telephone line on it...

you just need a dial up modem (56k for example) and a phone line, i have noticed that if you use voip (voice over ip (like the phone service provided by Time Warner ) you cant use a dial up modem at all, different signals i guess, because every time i plugged my modem in , it made my phone busy, and i tried 4 different modems , i had a few lying around , hope this helps in some way, peace
