Make a standard printer wireless?

How do I make my hp470 Wireless printer print WIRELESSLY?!?!?!?

• I have an hp h470 wireless printer with original drivers and all original parts/cords. Maybe a month of use out of the previous owner. The wireless adapter is present and functional. I am trying to install it on my Macbook Pro with software version 10.6.8 with and Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 4GB of DDR2 SDRAM with the original HP driver disc and get to the part with the wireless network configuration. It successfully connects to my network when I check the "configure device to your wireless network" check box. I get to the security settings menu and enter the password for my network in the "security key" box. It says "configuring". The next screen says "Your device was successfully associated with "my wireless network". It gives the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, preferred DNS server and alternate DNS server numbers. Then when I hit "continue" I get an error message "Device Not Reachable: The network configuration was successfully downloaded to the device. However to continue configuring the device in network, your MAC must have access to the device. So please make sure your mac has access to the network (my wireless network) and retry." with toggles below it saying "retry" and "go back". Everything is properly connected. Im surfing the web right now, so obviously my "Mac has access to my wireless network" and the printer is successfully connecting to the network as well. So...WHAT THE HECK?!?!?!? How do I get this thing to work?

  check the link below for Apple support documentation. I scrolled down to the HP portion of the document and attempted to locate the printer using the printer model you provided, I can not find the model as specified. I'm wondering is the correct model number in your post or is it possible Apple is not showing support for the printer?
