How can I hook up my fax machine to my DSL/ phone line?
-
I have a Lexmark printer/scanner/fax combo thingy. It's hooked up to my computer but I wanted to perm. hook it up to my line (which is also my DSL/ LAN phone line) phone jack to periodically receive faxes. I have splitters in for the phone line. What should I do about the fax? I am obviously not very tech savy but any help will be appreciated.

Answer:
Put another splitter into the phone filter that is plugged into the splitter. Plug the phone and the fax into it. You can buy a splitter at Radio Shack, Home Depot or other DIY store.

A fax machine can be connetected to the phone line through a filter, just like an answering machine or a telephone.
