How to control my printer?

Any suggestions on how to unistall a lexmark printer i have tried on its site and on control panel no joy?

  • it is switched off from my computer but if i try to uninstall it it says printer in use try after printing this happens when it is not connected up to my computer when it is connected it says printer not communicating/compatable and telling me i have wrong connections to it i use the usb what came with it i tried it on someone else computer same type as mine and it worked fine brought it home and still have this problem please can someone help as I do not know what i have done. My ink is okay as i replaced it last week and used the one recommended.

    go to printers highlight your printer and uninstall it. turn your PC off and plug your printer in,turn your printer on and then your PC, if you are using a usb connection it should find it, you then go to the printers in cp and add new printer install necessary software/drivers and make sure you mark your printer as the default printer see if that works, hopefully it should.

It should be in the Start Menu. Find it and then underneath it should have three options: the solution centre, uninstall and the user guide.

Not sure but have you cleared out your 'buffer printing que' . It may be trying to send info and is waiting, so the comp thinks its in use.

Go To Add/Remove programmes on your control panel and click uninstall....that should work ?

The only way I would find to fix this problem after of course i followed all other advice(the control panel uni stall stuff,). was to go directly to the Lexmark Printer. I had a similar problem with a Camera I had Installed, could not get it off. well Long story short I emailed them they sent me a email with a unistall attachment . I clicked onto it and I did step by step whala problem solved and unistall completed , so maybe you could give this a try, Good Luck and I will be waiting to hear how you actually get it solved .

i had the same problem for three months with my lexmark 1270. tried every type of help even the online features but finally, i figured it out. the problem is that you have to put the installation cd again and install the printers again. this time it will install properly. please tell me how it goes on at [email protected]

I had the misfortune to buy a lexmark-Wireless Printer last week.After finding out you could not get replacement print cartridges,I took it back and bought a H.P. Uninstalling on Windows takes about 45mins and if you try to rush it will keep giving you that reason"Printer still in use.Just be patient and it will uninstall.Think before you buy another lexmark.Check the availability of the print cartridges.
