My printer won't read my laptop anymore?

How to connect a USB "Lexmark X2250" to a laptop.?

  • I don't know how connect my printer to my laptop, whenever I do connect the USB(printer) on my laptop it does not do anything, not even read the USB plugged in my laptop, I've tried many times but it does not work. Currently my USBPrinter is connected to my computer (not laptop). I am wondering if I can still do it on my HP Laptop (Windows 7) because on the Installation CD it says " Installation software and user's guides for Windows and Macintosh" OR do I need a bluetooth for my printer OR do I need to buy a new printer?? I need to connect my printer to my computer and laptop if it's possible! (*If I need a new printer which brand/kind should I get?) I'd like to know how to connect my printer to my laptop! Thank You

Ignore the clowns, my friend. They must think you're too stupid, like they were, to plug your USB cable into the wrong ports on your computer and printer. Unfortunately, there are no Windows 7 drivers available for your printer. The Lexmark (USA) website offers drivers only for the following Operating Systems: Windows Server 2003 (32-bit), Windows XP (32-bit), Windows 2000. Sadly, this means that you'll need to purchase a newer printer if you wish to use it with Windows 7.

I was dealing with the same thing today and I had my cord plugged into the wrong thing on my printer but I found the right hole and then it worked. I don't know if that's your problem but thats what worked for me

Basically speaking, the printer software that installs USB printers on a computer can easily be installed on the PC through the installation disk. Majority of the installation disks that come with the printer package have an installation wizard that will be followed step-by-step by the user. These steps include the process of naming the printer and sharing the printer in a network.
