How to connect a printer?

How can i connect printer to my network?

I have a dsl modem (which also has a wlan) which has a usb port i don't know what is the use of it so i just connected by printer to it then i did all the steps to connect it to the computer from http://www.liutilities.com/how-to/connect-a-printer-to-a-wireless-router/ then at last after every step i tried to print there was no response from the printer and the printer was offline . my printer is f380 and pls no comments like reboot it or which computer you have etc! as i am asking this from you because i am in an urgency thanks in advance

Hello, The HP F380 inkjet printer does not support network printing via direct connection to the network like you are trying to do. It id designed to just connect to one PC and print. You would need to get a printer that is network ready to connect to your network.
