How do I connect a wireless HP printer to a laptop?

I'm completely clueless.The printer name is HP photosmart plus all-in one B209a-m, I believe. It was connected before but someone deleted a lot of files from my laptop and now it won't connect or even recognize that there is a printer in the area. Also, the settings on the printer were reset to the default factory settings. I troubleshooted from my laptop and it said I needed to download a driver, which I am. Troubleshooted from my printer and it said the printer could not find the access point. Can someone explain what I need to do in the simplest way possible. Thanks
