How to use a PBX machine?

I have a question about All In One Printers and Fax Machine Use.?

  • We're trying to buy an AIO printer The two we have been looking at are the Epson WorkForce 600 and Canon Pixma MX850 These both got really great reviews and they do everything we want But, after reading consumer reviews, I noticed that at least one person, writing reviews for both printers had an issue with the fax machine and answering machine interference. Our answering machine is in our kitchen, and our printer will be in the basement in the office. Is there ANY WAY that we can keep our answering machine turned on, and in the kitchen, and have the fax machine work correctly in our basement? And if not, does anyone know of any all in one printer that WILL let us do this? Thanks!

  • Answer:

Interference probably has nothing to do with the model of the printer. If the fax and answering machine are on the same line, you will have problems. Years ago I signed up for a free service called efax.com You get a free fax number and the faxes come into your email. No need for a fax machine at all. You can send faxes for a small fee. It's still easier and cheaper than a fax machine and phone line. If you must send a lot of faxes, you can still use efax for incoming and set the fax on your printer to answer only after many rings so your answering machine will pick up first. As for which printer - definitely the Epson. You want good quality output, a solid warranty and inexpensive ink. Epson has the best warranty in the industry. For a year, they will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. Epson has also made things easier for their customers by standardizing their cartridges. All of the following use the same T069 cartridges, which means finding them is easy and there are inexpensive replacements available: CX5000 CX6000 CX7000 CX7400 CX7450 CX8400 CX9400FAX CX9475Fax NX100 NX105 NX400 Workforce 30/40/500/600 and C120. My CX8400 uses the same cartridges as the Workforce. I get cartridges for all my Epsons from http://ccs-digital.com for under $3 each which hold 50% more ink than standard cartridges.
