What is the deal with my Dell AIO printer?

Question about my Dell AIO 926 Printer?

• I'm having a problem with it - it won't print lately, and when you turn it on, it says "Dell AIO 926" on tge green screen, but it won't respond when you push any buttons. The USB cord is plugged into the computer, but I keep getting a message that there is no communication between the computer and the printer. Also, when I start up the printer, there is an abnormal "rrrrrrrt" sound inside, as if the cartridge is being prevented from moving. I can't see anything blocking it, but I can't get inside. Any ideas what could be wrong?

  You are partly right that the carriage is jammed. The trouble is that you may not be able to clear it. It is underneath the ink tanks First take out all of the cartridges and see if you can see anything. there maybe a plastic stop that is not disengaging (this lets the carriage move across). If you can move this out of the way you may just get it working but it really need fixing as it won't go away, but it is worth a try.
