Why is a laser printer printing all gray?

Why is my HP Laser Printer printing gibberish?

  • I had noticed a few times before it would print out page after page of one-line gibberish (such as symbols, hearts, stars, etc..) but this was usually after I had cancelled a print job mid-print. Lately it will just do it randomly. One print job is fine, the next it will print a page or two correctly and then start with the gibberish. It has wasted nearly an entire ream of paper before I caught it. Then the next print job will come out as it should. What is the deal?

  • Answer:

It sounds like a communication problem, go to the HP web site and download the driver software for your printer, also look for a driver update, delete your drivers and install the new, also turn the printer off for a minute and restart, hope this helped and good luck.
