Help installing HP All in one printer..?
-
I'm trying to install my new HP Deskjet F4235 All-In-One printer, scanner and copier. Everytime that I insert the disk, the HP install wizard comes on and I click install and it begins, but once it comes to a screen that says "Firewall or anti-spyware software may show alert dialogs related to this installation. Please allow any HP programs to proceed if you see one of these alerts by selecting an option such as: Unblock, Yes, Allow or Permit. ETC." Then I click on Next and it goes back to the installing page, where a new windows then pops up that says "hpzrein01.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close." With a Send Error Report and Don't Send. I'll click Don't Send then another window pops up that doesn't say anything with an OK button. Then another windows comes up that says "hpzrcv01.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" and I click Don't Send and it all disappears. I tried to call the technical support center for help and ended up staying on the phone for 2 and half hours with a foreigner that had no clue what he was doing and then said he would call me back today and never did. By hooking up the USB cord, I can get the printer to work, but not the scanner. If anyone knows how to fix this, that would be fantastic!! But someone PLEASE HELP!!!

Answer:
Hi First hand, HP is really weird to install any of their products but I will guide you and it will work. First, uninstall all the HP software that came with it. Next, open the printer but remove the USB from the printer and start a fresh installation. At one point, the software will tell you to plug in your HP which you do and, continue the installation. Reboot Windows will tel you that it found new hardware . Now try printing. It should print no problem. As for the scanner, you need Photoshop, Corel or the Scanner software that came with the installation disk. Just open the software and click on 'acquire' or 'scan' . Email me. This is a simple issue.

I just got the Deskjet F4235 printer-scanner today and had the exact same issue. After doing a little research, the program seem to actually be related to Internet Explorer 8 that I recently installed. If you have IE8 (either beta version) installed, remove this by going through the typical uninstall via control panel, Programs and Features and then view installed updates. After the report, the Deskjet install worked great (using the CD included in the package - no downloads needed). Hopefully this helps for you also. Good luck!
