How do i hook up a printer to my laptop?

  • so i just purchased a acre aspire 5536 laptop but it doesn't have the spot to hook up my printer like on my actual computer (basically it just has usb's).. do i have to buy a special printer or is there a way to hook it up. i just started some online courses and i will really need a printer...someone please help... sorry i don't really know much about computers besides the basics on how to use them

    Most printers these days connect via USB. Is this an older printer that has only a parallel port (a long rectangle plug)? Then get a parallel printer adapter cable. well youd need a usb. the way you hook up your printer to your desktop comp is through a usb. unhook the print from the back of your comp and plug it into the lap top.

Well you need to buy a usb cord. Plug it into the slot in your printer, then plug it into the slot in your computer with the same symbol. I hope this helps!

well your laptop should have some sort of spot to hook up rather than the usb port maybe its covered up or something along them lines or you could just get a bluetooth printer that should help with the problem hope this helps seanibah...
