Printing problems with HP Printer?

  • I bought an HP Photosmart 5514 e-All-in-One printer in Novermber 2011. However, I am having problems with printing. Black is fine but when printing colors/pictures they often turn to weird colors and have lines or streaks in them. I was wondering what to do? I already tried cleaning the print head. I was wondering if maybe it's because the ink that is in the printer is what came in the box with the printer so it's old? Please respond if you have any tips.

    If you want to print in color, I suggest using normal or best quality on a good quality paper that is bright white. The contrast will be seen immediately. Now if there are still streaks when using BEST quality, change the cartridge. What comes with the printers are only half-full and have a lot of shell life. Its not like a fresh cartridge. Secondly, you can remove the cartridge and clean the print head with a Q-tip and alcohol, as well as under the cartridge itself.

have you clean thorough the print heads? and also if it is old maybe it is clogged ink. try putting the color ink in warm water to loosen the clogged ink.
