Why is my printer only printing in blue or not printing at all?
-
i have an HP photosmart A536 and I have had it less than a year. I have one cartridge that I refill using my own little kit. I have refilled all the ink (yellow, red, blue) but it always prints in blue. the test page in blue, sample page in blue, clean cartridge page in blue, everything is in blue and somtimes when i click to print a page it takes as long to print but the paper is still blank... does anyone have any idea what is going on here? any replies are welcome!! thanks

Answer:
A cartridge doesn't last forever - even if you keep adding ink. the print head on the cartridge will burn out - which is most likely what has happened. This means that the yellow and magenta part of the print head (they are right night to each other) and not heating properly allowing ink to pass though. they could also be clogged, warped or missing thier facing. Your only solution is to replace the cartridge.

Got a low cartridge there, pard. If yer printer has a control panel of some sort, it should be giving a message about the cartridge. If you print the sample page, it doesn't show the usual rainbow of colors, of course. Did you load up the CD that came with the printer? If so, then, you might want to run the on-going print assistant just for a bit (HP Solutions?) It might give you a message that gripes about the cartridge being low. At any rate, first, check that you remembered to remove the little pieces of tape (OOops, we did that once) from the last new cartridge you put in, then, if that's not it, replace the cartridges.

horrible answers. don't listen to anyone. I have two brand new photosmart a536 and upon replacing the ink cartridge I get blue toned people. (OEM ink as will not refill or refurb) Everything prints correctly excpet for the skin color on people. they come out like smurfs. As soon as i find a fix i will post!

I would try performing a nozzle check and a print head clean. See if that works, if not, it might be to do with refilling the cartridges. I would just get some cheap ones off the internet.

The printer could have dried up ink blocking the colours coming out, take it to a shop like pc world or something and they will sort it for you.

Check the settings you should be able to find them by going into the printer and look under preferences
