Is there a USB splitter 'y-cable' out there? Don't want to have to pull out my printer everytime, etc..

Right now my printer is attached to a desktop pc. It's setup so that I have to pull the desk out to unplug the USB cable everytime I want to print from my other computer (a laptop). I am looking for a cheap way to not have to do this. I don't want to buy a wireless update kit ($100) or a printer server. I was imagining that I would be able to find a cable that plugs into a USB cable, and on the other end has 2-USB cables (a splitter, 1 female to 2 male). This way I would be able to plug this into the USB cable coming from my printer, plug one cable into the desktop and leave the other sitting out so that I could just plug it into my laptop whenever I needed to. I went looking and couldn't find such a cable or adapter, anyone know of one? Seems like it'd be commonplace to me. Also, I don't want to set up the desktop to share the printer over my network and have to leave it on all the time. Thanks.

Do not get a USB hub. It is for plugging multiple USB devices into one computer. You need a USB switch. This will allow two (or more) computers to share the same USB device like your printer. Just search for USB switch on the Internet. They cost $20 to $40.

ya get a USB HUB..they sell tehm at walmart best buy...anywhere really...but its not that expensive..that way you can plug all your lil gadgets..lol
