Why wont my printer print in color?

  • i have an hp officejet 7130xi all-in-one. i recently wanted to save ink so i wen to controlpanel>printers>the printer>preferences and chose to never print in color. now i need to print in color and i cant. I went back enabled color again, the color cartridge is brand spanking new, and the printer is on! why wont it print color?

    There is a possibility that your color cartridge has dried out from not being used. Look to see if you have an option to clean cartridge. if so, try that. If not, you might need a new cartridge.

Colour cartridges can dry out if they are not used for a long period. You should check it out.

even though the colour cartridge is brand new, has it been sitting in the printer???? if so, you need to replace it anyway.

Try and print a nozzle check from your printer properties maintenance.If the print out without colour replace your colour cartridge

Maybe you could shut everything down and do the steps of installing another cartridge. You can install the color one again and tell the computer it is an old cartridge. Hope this helps.

Did you remember to rip the little sticker off the color cartridge? Otherwise, check your settings on the printer and in the application you are trying to print from.
