Will a regular printer print on the photo paper?

My Canon printer wont print on the Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II?

• I was just printing some text onto normal printer paper through microsoft word, and now I am trying to print photos onto the photo paper through the picture viewer thing on windows 7. I went to the print screen and hit 'print' but nothing happened, i had set the correct paper on the print screen, but i decided to set it on on my printer too, nothing happened. So i pressed "print in color" on my printer and it ate the paper an started to print, except nothing was on the page! i know i have ink, because i was just printing before. I tried several times, and the same thing happened: nothing on the page. PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks!!!

  Your ink cartridge is low, empty or possibly clogged First step is to see will if it print a test page Go to Start, settings, printers. Right click on the printer, properties, print test page. If that doesn't work there should be a head cleaning option in properties that will make it clean the print heads. If there is still nothing after that then either it’s badly clogged, low or out of ink, and needs to be replaced This may help Turn on the hot water until warm Put about 1/2 inches of water in a cup Put the print head portion (where the ink comes out) in for about a minute or two This will help to dissolve the clogged print head Dry off the cartridge using a soft tissue. Re-insert the cartridge into the printer. Run the normal cleaning software routine a few times
