Printer and photo paper advice?

Why won't my HP F4480 printer print on photo paper?

  • Recently my printer developed a problem copying onto photo paper. It makes a ratcheting noise, then sounds like it it printing (onto what I don't know because the paper hasn't fed into it), then pulls the paper in and spits it out the bottom with nothing on it except some long black lines on the back of the paper. This printer has no problem printing on plain paper, and prior to this it had no problem printing on photo paper (Kirkland Professional Photo Paper). Can anyone help?

  • Answer:

Usually this is a problem with the paper feed. Photo paper is very slick and the rubber wheels if dirty have a hard time grabbing it. Read your instructions regarding cleaning the paper feed and try it. You may need a new paper path. You can also try calling the HP help line
