How to add a border to layout?

Why doesn't the bottom border print when I add a border to a word 2007 flyer?

• in word 2007 ...i make a flyer then put a standard border around it, but when i click on print preview, the bottom border is not there and it won't print with a bottom border either. A box comes up before printing saying "your trying to print something outside of the page" or something like that. I've tried to extend the standard size of the document before i add the border, but it still does not show or print the bottom border.

  Hi James- If you are using Vista and a Deskjet 530 AIO printer, then I'm sorry to say you cannot print anything below 1/2 inch from the bottom of the page. Your printer just isn't capable of doing so. Go to Page Layout on the ribbon then click on the Page Borders button. On the window that pops up click on Options. You can then adjust the page borders so the distance from the top, bottom and sides increases. If that doesn't work (it only lets you go up to a distance of 31 pt) you can always change the setting "Measure From" to Text and then the border distance will depend on the text on your page. If that doesn't work you may need to buy another printer. I bought a printer (HP) that had a large bottom border like this and took it back the same day and got a printer that can print borderless. I don't think they should even make printers with such large margins! Cheers, -K
