How do I install a dell 920 without an install CD?

I lost my dell printer'sinstallation CD and connected it for the first time, how can i install it?

  • i have a dell laptop, and a printer, no CD. connected it for the first time. so im trying to install it without the CD, and on the add printiner wizard it tells me to select the manufacturer and model- but dell is not on the list! is there another manufacturer that will be compatible?

u can download the required software from dell website www.dell.com search for the version/your laptop serial number. or request for CD from the site

hi look at Dell model of you printer go to dell web site. download&support and download a drive. connect you printer via USB cable <most printers comes with USB cables now>. start installing your driver <make sure you printer is on. put paper on and when program will ask you " do you want to run a print test page" press yes. and it will run test page. As soon you'll get terst page you are set up.

Download the drivers for your printer and operating system from dells website. Have your printer turned on but not plugged into the USB port until your installation tells you to. If if doesn't tell you to reboot your puter after the installation is complete then plug your printer into the USB port.

There are two things you can do to install your printer. 1. Go to Dell's web sight and down load the necessary software. 2. Dell's printers are made by Lexmark so when the printer wizard asks you for the brand click Lexmark. Have a great day!!!
