How to connect a printer to more then one computer?

Can i connect two printer in one computer?

  • ive got a 4 in 1printer with fax but only black toner and a hp 3 in 1 colored printer but got only one computer, how do i connect both?

  • Answer:

If your operating system is Windows, then you have a wizard for installing as many printers as you want. First, install the software, then reboot if asked to, then plug in the 1st printer. Next, install the software for the 2nd printer, reboot if needed, then plug in the 2nd printer. Hit the "Start" icon, go to settings, then Printers and Faxes (initially to find the wizard, but once the printers are installed, ) to select which printer you want to ber your default - that is, which prints automatically, unless you choose the other. Right-click the icon for that printer, and click the "Use as default" link. Done.

depending on whether or not you have an older or newer model but for newer computers just install one at a time check each one after you install them you can also make a shortcut to the printer for installs and follow the wizard for setup. you can also check to see if your printer is compatible with systems operation as well and if it's not then check to see what the printer is compatible with

you must have two empty USB ports, then insert cable of one printer in USB port and download the driver of printer, and then attach another printers cable into other USB port and download the driver for this and check one by one. I hope if you will use one printer at one time and another computer other time then both can work, but both at a time will not work.

Yes, you can connect more than one printer to a computer. Most printers these days are connected via the USB port - just plug each one into a USB port or if you only have one available, get a USB hub and plug them into that...

Yes, you can connect just about as many printers to your computer as you wish. You'll just have to select the printer you wish to use every time you print.

If they both use USB then just plug them both in. When you go to your print menu from file/print, before you hit OK to print look to see what printer is selected and that is the one you will use.

As long as you have enough ports to connect them to your pc then you should be able to. Most of the new ones use the USB port so if your pc has 2 USB ports in the back just plug them in there.

If your board comes with multiple printer ports then that would solve your problem, other wise you would need to remove one printer to access the other. Another solution would be networking but then you'll need more than one PC. http://graphx.kwikphp.com/

Most printers are USB, simply just plug them in. I currently have 5 printers on one computer. They are all connected via a a USB hub so they only tie up one port.

smedrik

Both are probably USB, just plug them in.
