Can I print transparencies, specific to a brand of laser printer, using a laser printer of another brand?

Can I print transparencies, specific to Canon laser printers, using a Brother laser printer? Sure, the results may not be optimal but would this be fine for black and white overhead presentations? In terms of photo printing, I find it fine using canon photo paper in a HP printer, so just wondered if this goes the same with transparencies. Thanks in advance for your answer.

Answer:
Yes. A laser printer is a laser printer—the technology is the same for ANY brand. As long as the transparency is DESIGNED for laser use, it should be fine. The laser-printing process uses heat to fuse the toner to the surface—this is true for ANY laser printer. ~~ ScienceMikey
