Why won't my wireless printer work?

Trying to hook my printer up wireless and the the WEP key or IP address wont work. Help please.?

• This is what it says: Your wireless router requires a WEP security key. The security key configured on your printer does not match exactly. Reconfigure your wireless network WEP security key for your printer. Your printer has limited connectivity. Your printer is using IP address XXX, which is not compatible with the IP address XXX of the PC. Power off your printer and then power on and wait 60 sec for the printer to acquire an IP address. Then click Retry. I followed all the instructions and logged into my router and generated the WEP keys or whatever. It was three different keys. It said during installation to enter the first key if there were more than one, which i did, and it still isn't working. I even entered the number on the side of the router. How do i fix this problem so I can connect my printer wireless and be able to print from my laptop?

  Make sure you put in the WEP key exactly as it's listed from your router, including making sure you're using the upper case letters and not lower case. The other thing you need to check is to make sure that the router is set to the DHCP setting. This will allow the printer & router to negotiate an IP address that it will use. Now, be aware that if you use DHCP mode, anytime you turn your printer or router off, the IP address will possibly change and will affect the port access settings on your computer that you initially setup for it. To avoid that, you would have to setup a static IP address in the printer that is compatible with the router in a range that is not going to be commonly assigned by the router for other devices when then come on to the wireless network. There are other router settings that may be affecting your connection too, but if you didn't make any other special changes in the router when you set it up, you should be OK. Best of luck.
