How to keep an Android Service running?

I keep getting error message "Print spooler service is not running", help?

  • I keep getting error message "Print spooler service is not running", help? My printer used to work on the same computer before but recently that error message keeps popping up. I've tried many solutions I've found but it still won't work. I also just noticed that everytime I try to add the printer, the print spooler automatically stops itself. I already keep setting it to auto and start in services. I've cleared all printer drives and tried reinstalling the printer, but that doesn't work either. any other suggestions? please? :S (I accidentally deleted the question before >< sorry!) Printer: Canon smartbase MP390 series Windows XP media centre I've tried almost everything found on the net, such as regedit as well.

  • Answer:

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services single click on Print Spooler to highlight it, then right-click and hit Properties. The General tab should indicate file location as c:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe Make sure Startup Type is Automatic. If the service is not started, hit the Start button. hit the Log On tab. Log On as Local System Account, and Allow service to interact with desktop. Also make sure the service is Enabled in all Hardware Profiles. hit the Recovery tab. Make sure the computer's response is "Restart the Service" to all three failures listed, and that Restart Service after is set to 1 minute. the Dependencies tab shows it is dependent on RPC. Some security products can disable RPC. Did you install or change any security settings on your PC lately?

a quick solution would be to create a bat file to run when the spooler stops. Paste the command below into notepad and save it as a .bat extension. NET START "Print Spooler"

Not to over simplify your problem, but have you checked your harddisk for errors recently? Whenever I encounter bizzare computer problems when no initial action has been taken on my part, my first reaction is to scan for viruses with updated virus software. Secondly, I run a full harddisk check. You can do so by going to "My Computer", right clicking on "C" drive, clicking "Properties" on the drop-down menu, navigating to the "Tools" tab, clicking the "Check Now" button, checking both boxes, clicking "Start", answering yes to the prompts, and then restarting your computer.

Is the printer listed when you click on Start->Printers and Faxes? Is its status Ready? Another reason a printer might not work is because the print driver is out-of-date. If you manually go to Windows Update and check whether your printer has an update in the Other section. If you reinstalled your printer from disk then you may have installed an old print driver that no longer works.
