HP Deskjet 3745 does not print?

Why won't my HP Deskjet 1000 Printer Print?

• I know it is working because I got it to print a diagnostics for ink cartridges. But when I try and print a photo or anything. No matter the format, Jpeg, Tiff, PNG. It just won't print when I right click and click print. I am using Windows Vista. I have installed all the drivers properly. What it does is I right click an image icon and click print. Then it will say printing but the printer just won't do anything no matter how long I wait. Then I will go to see the current activity and it says its still printing. After a half hour nothing is being printed and there is a huge list of all the other things I have tried to print as well but the Printer won't do anything. Again I know it works though because I was able to print without windows help and the HP program that came with the cd that diagnoses ink cartridges.

  Windows XP and up, you really just need to plug the printer in and it auto installs itself. When you click PRINT, make sure you have the correct printer selected. There may be numerous printers on the list, when you hit PRINT, make sure you're sending the document to the correct printer that you wish printed. Option B: If the printer is freshly purchased, HP has a toll-free tech support number and they will be more than happy to walk you through the troubleshooting steps. Option C: I'm sure you're familiar with a 'forum', I found a HP support forum which is free to register and start a 'new thread'.
