Why cant my laptop find my router?

I cant hook up my printer to my wirless laptop..please help me!?

• I just asked a little while ago how to hook up a printer to my laptop. I have a router and wirless internet. I have a desktop hooked up to my printer now. I followed all the steps people hae told me. I copied an example of a response on the bottom. I get to the browse part, and it searches for the printer and nothing comes up. I set the desktop to share the printer like everyone said. Does the printer software need to be installed in the laptop? Both computers are window xp...I am so close to being able to print on my laptop. Please please someone help me with why I cant do the last step... very easy 1 - On your desktop - go to Printers 2 - right click on the printer you want to use 3 - on the menu select properties 4 - In Properties click on the Sharing Tab 5 - Click Share This Printer then give it a name. On your LapTop 1 - Go to Printers 2 - Add A New Printer 3 - Browse...My laptop cant find the printer here...

  What you have to understand is that even though both systems are connected via the network. They have no clue whether to trust each other. This can be as simple as turning the Windows Firewall off or as complex as having to add user accounts and permissions. Under normal circumstances you can trick a computer into trusting another computer by making sure they are part of the same workgroup, by adding alike user accounts that use the same password, and by adding administrative permissions to those user accounts. In short, one system doesn't trust the other system, that's why you're having a problem. The workaround is to get a wireless USB hardware print server and connect the printer directly to the network as opposed to printer sharing.
