MacBook Pro With Dual Monitors?

Connecting 3 monitors to a Macbook pro?

  • I want to connect 2 to 3 monitors to my macbook pro but as all one computer , is this possible? please help. thank you :]

  • Answer:

a KVM switch will not do what you wan't. They are for connecting multiple PCs to one keyboard/monitor/mouse not running a multi-monitor setup with one machine. You can add a second graphics card externally to some macbook pros (magma claim only the late 2006 model but they may have failed to update thier page) but this isn't a cheap option. You need an expresscard to PCI express adaptor and the only one of theese i'm aware of is the magma expressbox1 which costs about $750 plus you need a suitable mac compatible graphics card which will set you back another $200 or so. You can also get boxes that take one incoming signal and split it to several monitors but all the monitors must have the same resoloution and the total resolution is also quite limited.
