How do I get my monitor to support my video card?

My video card has no vga slot what do i connect my monitor to the video card?

  • I am about to buy a new video card and it has not VGA slot in it . My monitor does support HDMI DVI and VGA. In order to use the video card what do i use to connect to my monitor? i was considering HDMI but im not 100% sure cause im not good with pc stuff. Is a HDMI cable all i need in order to get audio/video to my monitor? and if possible could you guys get me a link on newegg.com to the HDMI cable that i need pref. 10bucks or less thx !

  • Answer:

Connect it either HDMI or DVI. Doesn't matter. Both provide the same exact digital picture. VGA is analog and not as good; ignore it. Any cheap DVI or HDMI cable from Walmart or Radioshack is fine. You don't buy sone stupid VGA adapter unless your monitor DOES NOT have HDMI or DVI inputs. Don't pay over $10 on a cable, either. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812189053

They make adapters for those cables. so you can take your vga cable and attatch it an adapter and plug it in either the DVI slot or HDMI slot on your video card :)
