How to check if my monitor is on?

How can i check what cpu i have other then looking at the back of my pc monitor if its uncorrect?

The monitor has nothing to do with your CPU. The monitor displays stuff. If you're in windows, go to the run menu, and type in dxdiag. It'll load, and it'll show you what you have, and what speed.

Back of your PC monitor? Like your actually Monitor that displays the screen? How would that know what your CPU is? The main program people use is CPU-z http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php Its a program that reads all the info about your system information. You could just go into Device Manager and look it up there??? (it might not tell you the exact speed, but it well tell you the model).

right click on my computer and go to bottom and click properties under general it will tell you the computer you are using and the other tabs have other info Windows XP

Depends which OS you're running. cat /proc/sys/cpuinfo will show you if you're running Linux.
