VGA TO COMPONENT TO CONNECT COMPUTER TO PROJECTOR 9700 RADEON PRO CARD?

  • I AM TRYING TO CONNECT MY DESKTOP COMPUTER TO MY PROJECTOR (IN72). CURRENTLY I AM USING A 9700 RADEON CARD AND THE COMPUTER IS CONNECTED TO A SYCMASTER 173T (DVI) CONNECTION. I HAVE A WIRE THAT CONNECTS VGA TO COMPONENT (RED BLUE GREEN). I HOOKED UP THE VGA ON THE BACK OF MY COMPUTER TO COMPONENT ON THE BACK OF MY PROJECTOR BUT NO IMAGE SHOWS. UNSURE IF THERE ARE OPTIONS I NEED TO CHANGE IN ORDER TO GET AN IMAGE...PLEASE HELP

  • Answer:

Those VGA-to-Component adapters are intended for use with video cards that can output a component signal through its VGA port. It will NOT work with just any VGA video card. I doubt your ATI 9700 card has a VGA port like that, which is why you will never be able to get an image on your projector by using that adapter.
