How do I fix the blue screen of death?

• I have a Toshiba Satellite and I use Windows 7, A few months ago, it was acting up and since I don't have a shitload of money to fix it, a family friend (who is a computer expert) offered to fix it for a low price. I got it back, and about a month later, the blue screen started showing up. I've managed to fix it a few times on my own, but each time, it comes back. I've so far reinstalled Windows TWICE. Meaning, I got the recovery disks for my computer and wiped my hard drive clean; it was basically like getting a new computer and using it for the first time. I thought that would stop it, but yesterday after the first recovery, the screen still popped up. I've recovered it again and it hasn't done it yet, but I'm afraid it will. How the hell do I stop this for good?

  These are the worst kind faults to rectify. This will either be a bad driver or faulty memory (even though you did a restore with original discs) make sure to update ALL the drivers using the system manufacturer update software. You can take out one of the memory modules at a time or test with a bootable DOS memtest86 disc. Even if you remove all the accessible memory modules most laptops will have some RAM built into the the system board which you cant get to so in that case use memtest86 or the BIOS memory testing utility if it has this. If the memory passes, and you have done ALL the driver updates (most importantly the chipset and video) and there is no overheating issues, the next port of call is to test the hard drive. After that and the the worst case scenario will be faulty motherboard or wireless/modem module etc (throw away job)
