Sometime monitor display from graphics card sometime from motherboard.why this is happening?

i start my computer but no display,i change VGA cable from graphics card to motherboard.Display my monitor.After shutdown i again start my computer but no monitor display,i change VGA cable from motherboard to graphics card display appear. I purchase my computer a few days ago.It has AMD processor ATI graphics card 4 gb RAM, 500 HDD, ASUS motherboard. Please help me
