How can i connect my computer and dvd player together?

Can some1 tell me if i can connect my tv/ dvd player/ both to my computer?

my sister got a new flat screen and gave me her old huge bulky tv set and i was wondering how i could connect it to my pc and i would also love to know how to /if i can/ connet my dvd player to my pc as well so i could maybe be able to use the tv as a split screen moniter and also watch movies to that same connected tv please tell me all the equipment i need like wires and stuff to connect the 2/3 electronic together thank you very much

You can connect the tv to the computer through an s-video composite cable and your video card. But I read somewhere that you can't use a tv as a secondary monitor. I think it was on nvidia's website. I'm not sure... As for the dvd player... I don't know wwhy you would want to do that since there are dvd drives for computers. But I think you would need a tv-tuner with s-video input.
