Is there a way to plug my Macbook into my Tv?

How do I plug a yellow, red and white cable into a MacBook or a HP monitor?

• I have the white MacBook and a HP monitor. I would like to plug my Xbox 360 into either my MacBook or my HP monitor. I use the yellow, red and white cables to plug my Xbox 360 into our TV. Is there a way to use those 3 cables to plug my Xbox into either my MacBook or my HP monitor? Or is there another way I can plug it in? 2nd thing I would like to do is. I have a surround sound system witch I use with our TV in our basement. I use the yellow, red and white cables to plug my surround sound into our TV. Is there a way to use those 3 cables to plug my surround sound into either my MacBook or my HP monitor? I could just use the audio out of the computer and then the audio in of my surround sound system and the DVD drive in my Mac for watching movies. But what I want to do is be able to use the DVD drive on my surround sound for watching movies. Please don't tell me it would be a lot easier to just use our TVs. I don't have a TV in my room, that is why I am asking these 2 questions.

  You CANNOT use your Macbook as a display for your XBox 360. Don't even think it. You can however use your HP monitor as a display for your XBox 360, but that Composite cable will NOT work. It is NOT compatible with your HP monitor. If you want to connect your XBox 360 to your HP monitor, you need to buy the Microsoft XBox HDAV VGA cable. It is purpose-built to connect your XBox 360 to any computer monitor that has a standard VGA jack.
