How do I change the setting of my monitor?

How can I change the monitor default setting on my laptop?

  • I want to use an old laptop with a desktop monitor.Unfortunately the keyboard is damaged so I have also connected a usb keyboard.Everything works great,except that I cannot get the external monitor to work.It shows the start up ok,but looses the signal as soon as you get to the windows user loggon page.i cannot use f3 to toggle because the keyboard is broken.can i change the settings some other way.?

    Right-click your desk top. Click properties. Select the settings tab. The monitor options will be available. Click on the monitor that displays the number 2. This will enable the monitor you are using. Make the second screen larger if you need to. Click apply and you will be set.
