How to connect an USB port to a DVD player?

How do I connect my flatscreen monitor to a dvd player. It does not have a scart port, does have USB.?

I have a new flatscreen for my laptop and would like to connect a standalone dvd player to it so that I can watch dvds on the nice big screen. It does not have a scart port. Does have USB and DVI ports. DVD players I have looked at , including portable, don't seem to have the capability to connect to the screen. Any ideas?
Answer:

You cannot just hook up a monitor to a TV device. Monitors for computers and TV screens are different, they use a different system to display the images. You need to connect your DVD player into a computer with a TV card capable of converting the dignal. You would be faer better off buying a proper TV screen.
