Why is my computer monitor screen all of a sudden streaky?

  • I was doing something that took a while, and then all of a sudden my screen has streaks.

  • Answer:

    Check both ends of the monitor cable and make sure they're firmly seated. Sometimes one works loose and a couple of pins don't make good contact.

If "doing something that took a while" was, in fact, mixing a banana daquiri in the blender and then practicing for the next "Dancing with the Stars" audition while seated at your computer station, then I think I may know why your screen has streaks... The same thing happened to me earlier today. A couple of paper towels and some Windex should do the trick.
