How to set up dual monitors?

Is there any one out there who knows how to set up Dual monitors to display one movie?

  • How do I optimize my system for a dual monitor movie set-up? I mean one picture spanning accross the two. I am running System: windows xp pro 2002 servise pack 2 Computer: AMD athlon 64x2dual core procesor 4400+ 2.21 ghz 4.0 gb ram Video card: NVIDIA GeForce 7800 gt Motherboard :A8N-SLI Premium Hard drive: WD SATA Raptor 74gb 10,000 rpm Dual Monitors: Nec lcd 1512 15" and cm2015 lcd Balance 15" monitor. If that helps. Oh, and yes I downloaded all the latest drivers. Even flashed my bios! could it be a monitor brand incompatibility issue? if so where could I swap my two 15"s for one 30" (lol) would anyone buy these on ebay? the two work fine multitasking tho.

  • Answer:

THE SIMPLEST WAY is the following: Step # 1 - make sure you have the monitors set up so that they are already acting like one. In other words, can you scroll the mouse arrow from one monitor to the other as though it's one big screen ? If so then go to Step # 3. If not, read Step # 2. Step # 2 - Right click onto your desktop where there's no icon. A screen will pop up that says, "arrange icons by" , "refresh", "new", "properties" . Click onto properties and then click onto Settings tab. Here, you will see monitor 1 and 2. If this order is not correct then you can drag one monitor icon over to the other side. Click onto each of the monitor icons and see if the appropriate box is checked ("use this device as the primary monitor" and "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor") for whichever monitor is your primary and extended. Once everything is set properly then click apply. Now, see if you can scroll mouse arrow from one monitor right across to the other. If so, then go to Step # 3. Step # 3 - All DVD player programs (Windows mediaplayer, PowerDVD, Cyberlink PowerCinema) will have the same shrink, expand/semi-expand, and close boxes on the top right-hand side, just like your internet explorer screen. Click onto the middle box so that it is "restored down". In other words, the middle box has picture of one box, not two overlapping boxes. If your DVD screen is still taking up the whole one screen, see if you can move the sides with the mouse arrow such that you can change the dimensions. If you can then JUST PULL THE ONE SIDE INTO THE OTHER MONITOR. Now your DVD player screen is spanning two monitors. If I've confused you, e-mail me. Good luck.
