Monitor going on standby when dark image?
-
Hi, Im having a problem with my EIZO FlexScan T662-T... specificaly, it goes into standby whenever the image is darkened. Such as when watching a movie, between scene changes when the 'image' should be a black screen (but not turned off screen), or when playing a game and theres nothing realy bright going on... moving the mouse to make the pointer apear or even just waiting for the scene to change to something more light causes it to turn on again... but in movies that means I always either have to wiggle the mouse, or miss a couple seconds while the monitor powers up again... and in games well... not much I can do if the monitor decides to take a nap cause its dark. I'm assuming the monitor is probably unable to tell the differance black image, and no image... Any other ideas? Do I need to replace it?

Answer:
You need to uninstall and reinstall the monitor. OR.......adjust the power management settings on your computer (specifically towards the monitor). OR......purchase a new monitor.

Hmmm. This doesn't seem right. A monitor cannot really detect a "dark" image unless it has a build in feature for that. The only reason a monitor goes to sleep when it stops receiving a signal. The signal can be a black screen or a rainbow, it makes no difference to the montior, it's a signal all the same. Have a look though the monitor's menu, the power options in Windows too.
