How do I keep my monitor from going to sleep?

Where is the on/off switch to keep the monitor from going to sleep?

  • My monitor was working just fine. I need to check out another tower so I unhooked the monitor and other parts I needed to check out the other tower. The monitor wouldn't work with the other tower. I decided to plug my parts back into my completely working computer and now my monitor won't work on the one it was working just fine on.

  • Answer:

If the monitor is not working, then it's not really a problem of sleeping that you need to worry about. Does the monitor's power button or power indicator light up when turned On? It's often best to have the monitor plugged into the computer and powered On before powering on the computer, this will let the computer know that it's plugged in and where so that it can send the video signal to the correct port. The computer may be defaulting the video signal to another video port on the computer it there's more than one. Would need more details about what's happening to help further.
