Why is my screen resolution messed up?

Screen Resolution messed up after reinstall?

  • I had to reinstall windows because my son messed the computer up. After the reinstall, The default screen resolution pops up, which is HUGE. I try to readjust, and when i do, the colors are all messed up. It looks really bad! What can i do to make the resolution clear like before? I even reinstalled again thinking some files did not copy....nothing helps

    Windows defaults to 640 X 480 (VGA) resolution in the absence of the manufacturer's graphics card drivers. That's why it looks huge! After re-installing Windows, you must install all the motherboard drivers, then the graphics card drivers. Use the free Belarc Adviser to identify them: Get these from the respective manufacturer's websites.

right click on your desktop screen choose properties then choose settings tab on the box that pops up , set your colour to 32 bit then move the slider on screen resolition to the size you usualy run at eg. 1024 x 768

just go into the settings folder and go to display , if you cant change it then you might have to install graphics card drivers. what kind of card do you have. (also , take a look at ubuntu (a version of linux) for your sons computer , much easier , faster and free , www.ubuntu.com )

Right-Click on desktop, go on properties, click the "SETTINGS" tab, when u see the slider bring it all the way to the "MORE" side, Also, make sure the quality is at the highest mode (ITS ON THE SAME SCREEN)

first try right click on desktop properties settings tab then change resolution apply should do it if not you need to re install the video card driver then follow previous instructions
