How can i change the screen resolution for my external monitor when i cant see the screen on my laptop?
-
My laptop screen is broken and I can't fix it so I use a tv as a monitor but when I changed the resolution, it went blank. Can anybody help me? I have to use my laptop immediately

Answer:
Connect another external monitor to your laptop (a different one) and you should be able to see your pc's output images. Change to a lower resolution and come back to your monitor/tv. (you usually can't see anything on your monitor when you set a very high resolution and it's out of your monitor's range) Another solution would be starting your laptop in VGA mode which means it will start in 800x600. But I'm not sure if it will use your external monitor. If not try Fn key+F8 or whatever F key is "CRT/LCD" on your keyboard. You should try this second solution first. Goodluck. ;)
